MTCC AmeriCorps Leader, Friendship House, Billings, MT
Serve as an AmeriCorps Leader in Billings, MT--south-side neighborhood--one of the most impoverished areas in the state. Friendship House seeks to alleviate poverty through removing barriers to education through their Youth Enrichment programs. The AmeriCorps Leader will support and lead a team of college students to develop mentoring, tutoring and college access programming with youth. Educational attainment is directly correlated to higher levels of income and reduces the likelihood of poverty. MTCC Americorps Leader, Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming, Missoula & University of Montana, Missoula

The AmeriCorps leader will provide under-served girls in Missoula with college access, leadership, STEM, and outdoors programming. They will develop lessons and activities for APD (alternative program delivery) troop meetings to emphasize the necessity of postsecondary education. Recruit, train, and support college student AmeriCorps Team Members as College Positive Volunteers to assist with college positive activities including college visits. They will Recruit and support additional community volunteers to lead APD troops and support community service projects with the school and their AmeriCorps Team to encourage civic and community engagement.
