Background

Project proposals are now being accepted from organizations interested in hosting one or more AmeriCorps VISTA members during the 2024-2025 service year. These year-long projects are scheduled to take place from mid August 2024 to mid August 2025. MTCC AmeriCorps VISTA places national service members with Montana schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in order to build organizational efficiency, efficacy, and program reach by completing one-year, capacity building projects. The MTCC VISTA priority areas are: College Access & Success, K-12 Success or School Readiness, Community Resilience (including climate resilience), and Veterans & Military Families.

Timeline

Priority deadline to propose projects: January 21, 2024
Secondary deadline to propose projects: February 29, 2024

Negotiations conclude for first set of proposals: February 5, 2024
Negotiations conclude for second set of proposals: March 8, 2024

Deadline to submit “VISTA Position Details Form“ (priority applications): February 12, 2024
Deadline to submit “VISTA Position Details Form“ (secondary applications): March 15, 2024

August 2024 Project Period: August 12, 2024 to August 11, 2025

Proposal Process

Preparation

Before submitting a proposal, we recommend that you review the following information:
If your organization has not previously partnered with with our VISTA program, we recommend that you schedule a time to speak with Callye Foster, VISTA Program Director, to assess whether this program is the right fit for your organization’s needs.
When you are ready to submit a proposal, download and review these supporting documents. They must be signed and attached to the proposal.

Submission & Approval

Complete your VISTA Project Proposal online.
- Your proposal will be completed via Submittable. If you have not used Submittable before, you will be prompted to create an account when you first access the link above.
After submitting your proposal, we will review it and contact you if there is need for clarification, or to request modifications to align the project with AmeriCorps VISTA regulations and the MTCC mission.
Projects that are found to meet AmeriCorps VISTA regulations and to align with the MTCC mission will receive notification of their approval.
Approved projects will be provided instructions to complete “A VISTA Position Details Form”. This form details the VISTA member’s responsibilities and qualifications, along with other information required to successfully recruit and place a VISTA member with your organization. This form will require you to complete and submit a VISTA Assignment Description (VAD), which is equivalent to a job description for the role. You may review VAD information below:
