Browning High School

Position Description: At Browning High School, the AmeriCorps member will serve the high school students of Browning, located on the Blackfeet Nation. As an AmeriCorps member, you will support high school students through tutoring, college application assistance, scholarship and FAFSA support, career exploration, and general academic support. You will also participate in college readiness program development and management, which could include drafting letters to parents, chaperoning campus visits, and contacting community organizations to participate in school events. MT Tech – Institute for Educational Opportunities (Butte Region)

Position Description: The Institute for Educational Opportunities at the Montana Technological University (MT Tech) is a consortium of programs developed to provide K-12 students with the support they need to achieve success in higher education. In this position you will focus on supporting the students of Butte Central High School, but there may be opportunities to visit regional communities, as well (Anaconda, Ennis, Whitehall, Boulder). As an AmeriCorps member, you will serve as part of a team providing one-on-one mentorship to high school students, helping them to apply for college, explore careers, and succeed in school. Although based in Butte, the program operates a satellite program in Helena, MT. As one of two AmeriCorps members in the Helena Region, you will provide mentorship and college coaching to students at Helena High School and Capitol High School, providing one-on-one mentorship students, helping them to apply for college, explore careers, and succeed in school. CODE GIRLS UNITED

Position Description: The mission of Code Girls United is to expand the future career opportunities of 4th – 8th grade girls through hands-on experiences in coding, technology, and business. Code Girls United is a partner of Flathead Valley Community College, located in Kalispell. As an AmeriCorps member, you will deliver online and in-person curriculum to middle school girls, helping them to gain competencies in computer science and entrepreneurship. Position Description: Indigenous Research and STEM Education (IRSE) Indigenous Research and STEM Education (IRSE) is dedicated to the advancement of Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, and First Nation students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) academic disciplines and professions. Based on the University of Montana campus in Missoula, the member should expect to regularly travel to schools in Browning, Hardin, Polson, Ronan, and Hot Springs. Member activities will include mentoring Native American middle school and high school students and helping them to explore their options for college. Position Description: Mentor underserved youth at the Boys & Girls Club. Engage with Sidney High School, Dawson Community College, and other community organizations to support students.
