Community Description:

As Montana’s largest city, Billings is home to Montana State University Billings and Rocky Mountain College, and offers great local dining and brewing options, in addition to its fantastic scenery. The city offers activities to fuel outdoor exploration, including the Rimrocks and Pictograph Cave State Park. There’s also plenty to see around town such as the Moss Mansion, designed by the famous architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, and the Yellowstone Art Museum. For those willing to make a small trip, the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument is only a 60 minute drive.

Position Summary: Bozeman Public Schools exist to provide an outstanding education that inspires and ensures high achievement so every student can succeed and make a difference in a rapidly changing world community. This project is seeking two AmeriCorps members who will work with the Family-Schools Services Coordinator in collaboration with the English Language Learner Coordinator to ensure equal access to education for homeless and low-income students. Position Summary: The Office of Environmental Protection for the Fort Peck Tribes works to provide a better world for tomorrow by conserving the natural resources of the Fort Peck Reservation. As an AmeriCorps member, you will help to establish a climate resilience plan for the Tribes by community assessment activities and researching preparedness strategies. Position Summary: The Planning and Zoning Division of the City of Red Lodge administers the city’s growth management program. As an AmeriCorps member you will serve at City Hall under the supervision of the city’s Planning Director in close partnership with the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation to perform an assessment of the Mountain Springs Villa low-income housing area.
